This is one of those paintings where, in the beginning you were really excited about it, but you spent so looooooooong on it that now you're just sick of it and don't even care that it came out good, you're just glad you're done with it. You don't even want to look at it. LOL! Ugh maybe later I'll look at it and not feel a dwindling feeling in my chest.
Having said that I AM happy with how it turned out, though it's a weird hybrid of styles. I started this 6 months ago, on the heels of beating ME3. I worked on it furiously for a couple of weeks and then it got shelved, and has been shelved, all this time. I pulled it out today and figured I better finish it---it was really just the background holding me back. But I'd spent SO much time (blood sweat and tears) on Shepard I didn't want to abandon it. That's why there's line art around Shepard, since I started this back when I didn't know how to art without lines, haha.
Anyway, I'm glad I finally got the drive to finish this thing. It was prickling at my brain all these months. Like leaving the kettle on.
